Old Pendleton District Chapter of the South Carolina Genealogy Society.  Daniel Murphree's children left Chatham County, NC in the late 1770's and settled in
Old Pendleton District, SC before moving on westward.  Linda Cheek, a
Murphree descendant, is Editor of the excellent OPD Chapter newsletter.  You
can download a GEDCOM from this site of the OPD Database which contains
over 316,000 individuals.  Many of these are Murphrees or Murphree descendants.

Murphree, and his company were featured on the cover of the May/June 1999 issue of Digital South magazine.  Dennis' Murphree ancestors settled in Mississippi in the 1850's and some of them migrated to Texas after the War Between the States.
