Awards

When the Murphree Homeplace was first published in 1999 genealogy websites were still in their infancy. Website awards were a sought after accomplishment by the amateur webmasters of the time. Awards were given for website design, presentation and content. Although the goal of the Murphree Homplace was to share our Murphree heritage and promote further genealogical research we are proud of the awards given to us by our peers. These awards typically linked back to the sites that they were presented by, quite often other genealogy websites. Today many of these sites have fallen by the wayside, due to a lack of interest or other reasons, most of these sites are no longer in existence. I am keeping these awards as mementos of a time not so long ago. If the sites are still active, I have kept the links intact or moved to their new location. If links were broken and I could not find a new URL address the links have simply been removed. I hope you enjoy browsing through our collection.
